We use this tense in below statement.
News Reports, Instructions or Processes, Unknown or Unimportant Doer, General Statements:
When the action's performer is unknown or insignificant, or when the action or outcome itself is the main focus, the passive voice is often used.

1. In present indefinite (passive) we use is, am, and are as helping verbs.
Is AM ARE
( he, she, it singular noun) ( I ) (we, you, they, plural noun)
2. We use 3rd form of verbs in all passives.

Active: He writes a letter. Passive: A letter is written by him.

Active: The cook cooks a tasty meal. Passive: A tasty meal is cooked by the cook.
Active: They speak Spanish in this region. Passive: Spanish is spoken in this region by them.
