Prepositions

Definition:

A preposition is a word that indicates how a noun (or pronoun) and other sentence components relate to one another. Within a sentence, prepositions can be employed to denote location, time, direction, manner, and other relationships.

Function:

Prepositions connect nouns and pronouns to other words in a phrase by acting as connectors. They contribute to improving the overall clarity and meaning of a phrase by supplying information about the spatial or chronological link between various elements.

Types of Prepositions:

Prepositions can be divided into many kinds according to what they do:

Prepositions of Place:

These prepositions explain where something is located or how it is positioned in relation to another.
